Hyderabad: Nearly four months after a complaint was lodged, 10 persons were arrested by OU police for allegedly fabricating a farman to lay claim over 100 acres of land in Nadergul.
“The complainant accused fabrication of historical land records and misuse of such documents before a statutory legal forum,” OU police said. “The matter came up for hearing at Lok Adalat on Feb 22, 2025,” police said. The alleged farman was relied upon by the two different groups to claim the land by approaching District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). A clerk of State Archives is alleged to have supplied or facilitated the issuance of the disputed document, which was subsequently relied upon by two groups.
Police said that in the case, the total number of accused was 46 persons, which included a clerk from State Archives and Research Institute. An alleged criminal conspiracy to unlawfully alienate approximately 100 acres of land in Nadergul in Ranga Reddy district is under investigation. The accused, by accessing a farman obtained through RTI, had allegedly fabricated it.
