Rampurhat MLA Dhruba Saha said, “ The digital coupon arrangement aims to curb the irregularities that previously plagued the VIP darshan process. Pulak Chatterjee, secretary of the Tarapith Sevait Sangha, said, “We welcome this pilot project and hope it will soon be fully operational. Devotees can now buy coupons through a mobile app. However, alongside this new facility, on-the-spot physical coupons will remain available until the online system functions seamlessly. With ‘Kaushiki Amavasya’ falling this Thursday, special arrangements have been made for lakhs of pilgrims expected to visit Tarapith for the occasion. Rampurhat sub-divisional officer Rathore Ashwin Babusingh and Rampurhat MLA Dhruba Saha formally inaugurated the new system by booking online coupons themselves.
