The three stars stepped out together in New York City on Friday, September 18, for a press day ahead of the release of their upcoming psychological thriller. ‘Verity’ is based on Hoover’s bestselling 2018 novel and follows Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer played by Dakota Johnson. ‘Verity’ is scheduled to arrive in theatres on October 2.
Mom-to-be Anne Hathaway , Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett are officially getting into promotion mode for ‘Verity’. Hathaway, who is expecting her third child, showed off her baby bump in a fitted look as she arrived at the press venue with her co-stars. The actress wore a fitted Cult Gaia midi dress with black open-toe heels and sunglasses. She was later seen smiling and waving as she left the venue. Johnson kept things more understated in an all-black outfit. She paired a tailored jacket with matching pants, pointed heels and dark sunglasses. Hartnett added a little colour to his otherwise casual press-day look with bright red shoes. He was also photographed in a second outfit, this time going for an all-black look. The New York appearance comes just weeks ahead of the theatrical release of ‘Verity’, which is based on one of Colleen Hoover’s best-known novels. Hathaway takes on the role of Verity, a successful author whose mysterious past sits at the center of the story. The actress is also one of the producers on ‘Verity’, giving her an additional role behind the scenes. Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett star alongside Hathaway Johnson plays Lowen, whose discovery of Verity’s manuscript changes everything, while Hartnett plays Jeremy, Verity’s husband and the person who brings Lowen into their home. Lowen gets an unexpected career opportunity when Jeremy Crawford, played by Josh Hartnett, hires her to finish a successful book series written by his wife, Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway. Verity is unable to finish the series after a mysterious accident leaves her unable to continue writing. Lowen travels to the Crawford family’s home to go through Verity’s work and prepare to take over the unfinished books. But things become much stranger once Lowen discovers an unpublished manuscript hidden in the house. The manuscript reveals things Lowen was never meant to know about Verity and her family. And the more Lowen reads, the harder it gets to look at the family the same way. What started as a writing job soon turns into something much more complicated.
