A similar ITMS system will soon be introduced in Ranebennur and other taluks in order to curb traffic violations. ”
Police sources said a notice was served on the MLA Tuesday. The action drew appreciation from residents, who described it as a bold step and said the police did not spare an elected representative for violating the law. Traffic police personnel said many people continue to ignore traffic rules despite measures taken for their safety. “For the first time, the elected representative of the ruling govt was slapped with a fine for violating traffic rules in Haveri district,” a source said.
