Divisional commercial manager and PRO of Railways, during the intervening night of Aug 26-27, Mujamil Khan, constable with RPF, Mysuru, while on duty at Ashokapuram Yard, noticed a person moving suspiciously with an electric motor, according to Girish Dharmaraj Kalagonda. On investigation, the person was identified as Ashish, 26, a resident of Bihar. He was found carrying an electric motor valued at Rs 4,000, which was later found to have been taken from a condemned railway coach at Ashokapuram station.
When the person tried to escape, Mujamil alerted Dinesh Kumar , post commander of RPF, Mysuru, and pursued him. An RPF team was immediately sent to the spot, and the person was detained. A case has been registered, and further action is being taken as per the rules.
