He instructed nationalised banks, cooperative banks, and microfinance institutions to strictly adhere to govt directives with utmost sensitivity. Nashik : Maharashtra deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde on Monday said coercive recovery of loans from farmers must be completely avoided during prevailing drought conditions in the state.

Speaking at a comprehensive review meeting held at the Niyojan Bhawan on the premises of Nashik district collectorate, Shinde asserted that the govt stands firmly with farmers in times of crisis and that the administration must ensure swift implementation of relief measures. The high-level meeting was attended by water resources and guardian minister Girish Mahajan, school education minister Dadaji Bhuse, food and drug administration minister Narhari Zirwal, mayor Himgauri Adke Aaher, MPs Rajabhau Waje and Bhaskar Bhagre, alongside members of the legislative assembly Gokul Gite, Kishor Darade, and Seema Hire, among other top officials.

“Crop damage panchanamas, application verifications, and financial assistance distribution must be completed transparently and without delay,” he said. They simply need to approach the govt departments, and the administration will provide them with necessary aid,” Shinde said. Shinde emphasised that delivering the benefits of state policy decisions to eligible farmers in a timely manner is a vital responsibility of the administration. “As far as loan recovery is concerned, no coercive measures should be implemented. Local authorities, including divisional commissioner Praveen Gedam and collector Ayush Prasad, must sensitise financial institutions regarding these orders. ” He further added that providing psychological support to distressed farmers is crucial, noting that educational concessions for students in drought-affected areas must be effectively implemented. “The govt is with the farmers every step of the way. There is absolutely no need to take extreme steps.

On the sidelines of the administrative meet, Shinde launched a sharp counterattack against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over his recent remarks targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi . The critics have completely lost their composure, and more allegations they level, the deeper they dig their own political graves.”

“PM Modi works round-the-clock for the country,” Shinde said. Shinde asserted that the opposition stands no chance against the Prime Minister’s leadership. Responding directly to Kharge’s jibe, Shinde defended the Prime Minister’s relentless work ethic. “The opposition’s criticism is born out of jealousy.
