Nashik : Motorists on the Samruddhi expressway will face phased traffic blocks of up to one hour between the Sinnar and Igatpuri interchanges, from Aug 31 to Sept 7, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) said.
During the first phase, traffic will be stopped between Sinnar and Bharvir interchanges on Aug 31, Sept 1 and Sept 2. Mumbai-bound traffic will remain closed from noon to 1 pm, while Nagpur-bound traffic will be halted from 3pm to 4pm. After a one-day gap, the second phase will be undertaken between Bharvir and Igatpuri interchanges on Sept 4, 5 and 7. “In the second phase, work will take place between Bharvir interchange and Igatpuri interchange on Sept 4, 5, and 7.

MSRDC officials said, “The temporary blocks are being implemented to facilitate the installation of gantries for CCTV cameras under the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS). The work will be carried out in two phases, according to permissions granted by highway police. The same schedule will apply, with Mumbai-bound lanes closing from noon to 1pm and Nagpur-bound lanes closing from 3pm to 4pm,” an official said.
The MSRDC has appealed to commuters using the expressway to plan their travel in advance and factor in the temporary traffic restrictions. Download the TOI App.
