Mumbai: A BMC school in Govandi’s Sanjay Nagar allegedly being used: The wider industry impact

Rajeshree Shirwadkar, chairperson of the BMC Education Committee, has expressed her dissatisfaction regarding a recent incident. She has mandated the civic administration to prepare and submit a comprehensive report detailing the circumstances surrounding the event.

Vyas said the incident raised questions about who was exerting pressure on the school management and whether the school watchman was acting in collusion with local pressure groups. Vyas raised the issue through a point of objection, questioning how a school meant for students could be used for keeping livestock. “Is this school meant for education or animal husbandry? Are we now going to introduce animal husbandry in the curriculum?” he asked. He demanded an inquiry to establish who was behind the alleged pressure and how goats were allowed inside the school premises.

Mumbai: A BMC school in Govandi’s Sanjay Nagar allegedly being used to tether goats came under scrutiny at the civic education committee meeting on Thursday, with nominated corporator Nikhil Vyas seeking a probe into it.
