One of them had been staying in India since 2015, while the other had been here for around three years, police said. Nashik : City police have arrested two Bangladeshi nationals who allegedly entered India illegally and were living in the city using forged Indian identity documents.
Crime branch unit-1 arrested the duo from Navnath Nagar along Peth Road in Panchavati on Friday following a tip-off. Police identified them asRoni Abdul Shaikh (32) and Ashik Ali Akbar Ansari(24) , both residents of Shinde Chawl in Navnath Nagar. Police said one of the accused had been living in India since 2015, while the other had been here for the past three years and was employed as a worker.
They revealed their original names as Mohammad Musharraf Hussain Muzirburahman Khokan and Mohammad Sajjat Hussain Ashik, respectively.
During questioning, police said, the two disclosed that they were Bangladeshi citizens from Meejibadi in the Begumganj area of Noakhali district. Police said a search of the duo yielded forged Indian identity documents, including fake PAN cards and national identity cards. They could not produce valid passports or travel permits. During questioning, the two allegedly admitted to crossing the India-Bangladesh border without the mandatory permission from the authorities. Police constable Mukhtar Shaikh lodged a complaint against the duo at Panchavati police station.
