Police sub-inspector Deepali Aware of Ravet police said, “The accident occurred around 2.30 am on Wednesday while the student, Arpit Yeotikar (21), was on his way to have breakfast at Darshale Chowk in Punawale. Pune: A final-year electronics and telecommunication engineering student died after his motorcycle was hit by a water tanker in Punawale. When he reached Punawale gaothan, a tanker coming from the opposite direction knocked down his motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet and sustained severe head injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.”
