Nashik : Central Railway’s decision to impose a special traffic and power block between Asangaon and Kasara from Oct 7 to 9 has prompted the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation ( MSRTC ) to reroute its Nashik–Kasara buses to Asangaon. Central Railway has announced a 12-day special traffic and power block at Kasara from Oct 7 to Oct 18 for the Asangaon-Kasara third-line project and yard-line extension in Kasara yard. Train movement repercussions have so far been announced only from Oct 7 to Oct 9. The block on the up and down main lines will operate from 3.35 pm to 8.35 pm on Oct 7 and Oct 8, and from 0.30 am to 5.30 am on Oct 9. On Oct 7 and Oct 8, four CSMT-Kasara local trains departing CSMT will be short terminated at Asangaon station, while four Kasara-CSMT local trains will short originate from Asangaon instead of Kasara. Additionally, four suburban local train services scheduled for the midnight of Oct 8 and Oct 9 will be cancelled.

A total of seven trains will be regulated on the Bhusaval division, and 23 trains are expected to face delays due to regulation and bunching.

We run the buses from Kasara to Nashik and they will now originate from Asangaon for the trains terminated during the block timings at Asangaon,” Manasi Shelke, depot manager (Asangaon), said. Umesh Birari, Nashik divisional traffic officer, said the buses would run till Asangaon and additional buses, if required, would also be provided during the period. With the block suspending local train services on the Asangaon–Kasara section, several CSMT–Kasara locals will be short-terminated at Asangaon, leaving commuters without rail connectivity beyond that point. “Several buses will be operated during this period to ensure passengers can travel smoothly between Nashik and Asangaon – in both directions. Suburban train services will remain completely unavailable between Asangaon and Kasara during the block windows. Long-distance express operations will also be affected during the three-day period. Five mail and express trains are scheduled to be rescheduled, while eight trains will face regulation at stations like Igatpuri, Khardi and Atgaon.
