His cousin Navaneeth Vasudevan, 45, who is only two days older than Krish, said the message was typical of him. Though Krish was born and brought up in the US, the two spoke often about academics and life.
His mother, Indira Devi, is due to visit Kerala next Jan.
Krish spent vacations at his mother’s family home in Mavelikkara, Navaneeth said, and made it a point to visit the place every two years. Krish’s wife, Shwetha Vijaya Kumar, is from Palakkad, which Navaneeth said reflected his close bonding with Kerala. Navaneeth said Krish, a doctor, was passionate about social service, which is why he chose to work in East Africa after his Harvard education. Namboothiri held Krish in high regard, Navaneeth said and used to tell him that he had the potential to become US president.
His father’s family home is in Kozhikode.
