“People gave you the mandate to govern, but you are only looting,” he said, alleging that the govt was misusing its authority. Speaking after meeting those who claimed to have been affected by the 22A restrictions, Rao alleged that the state govt was attempting to convert private land parcels into govt land and subsequently sell them for real estate development. He demanded that the govt stop implementing 22A and take steps to resolve the grievances of affected landowners. He alleged that the govt was more interested in real estate development than protecting the interests of ordinary landowners. Download the TOI App.
