30yo man held for raping elderly mother in Hathras
Muzaffarnagar : A 30-year-old man was arrested in Hathras district on Saturday for allegedly raping his 63-year-old widowed mother, police said. Police said the incident took place on Aug 27 when the accused, who lives with his mother in Hathras, returned home in an inebriated state around 9.30pm.
Police said the woman resisted the assault, following which the accused allegedly bound her limbs to overpower her. She subsequently suffered a severe deterioration in her health, they said . He allegedly tied his mother’s hands and feet with a cloth, gagged her, and assaulted her. The incident came to light the following day when the elderly woman, traumatised by the assault, managed to contact her younger son, who lives in Noida and works at a private company. After hearing what had happened, he immediately lodged a complaint at the local police station. Based on the complaint, police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the law, including rape, and arrested him. The woman has been sent to the district hospital for a mandatory medical examination.
Local SHO said, “A case under relevant sections, including rape, has been registered against the accused.
He will be produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.”
