All four got trapped following a sudden surge in the water level with a heavy current. The fishermen somehow called for help while they managed to remain safe holding on to the bushes. Police and the fire department, along with administrative officials, rushed to help but were not able to bring them to shore. Finally, sub-divisional magistrate Manoj Bharti, overseeing the rescue operation, called in the Army for help. Later, the Army personnel arrived and did an aerial recce with the help of a drone.
