Lucknow: Traffic police received 14 suggestions on the first day of its citizen-participation drive, Sahbhagita, as residents flagged congestion points and offered solutions aimed at improving road safety and traffic flow. One prominent proposal sought removal of the roundabout at the busy 1090 intersection. Citizens also reported recurring bottlenecks on Ayodhya Road and problems linked to roadside encroachments, with officials noting that several submissions contained enough detail for on-ground verification.
Because certain suggestions were specific and actionable, allowing immediate assessment of traffic movement and road conditions, tyagi said the team visited locations. Following the feedback, DCP (Traffic) Raveena Tyagi led a spot inspection on Monday of the Ayodhya Road stretch from the BMW showroom cut and CMS school cut to the Barabanki border.
Participants must share exact locations, photographs and problem descriptions, and can also upload marked maps, sketches or annotated images proposing remedies. Launched on Sunday, Sahbhagita invites residents to report unsafe U-turns, troublesome junctions, pedestrian crossing difficulties, school-zone congestion and parking issues through a bilingual Google Form.
On the 1090 roundabout, officials said any change would follow a detailed evaluation.
