Agra : A 23-year-old man was arrested in UP’s Firozabad for allegedly killing his 22-year-old girlfriend, a Dalit, under influence of a sexual stimulant drug after she resisted his attempt to repeatedly rape her, police said on Saturday. The accused, who belongs to another caste, was produced before a court and sent to jail, police said, adding that a search is underway to arrest a co-accused, 24, who assisted in the crime. “The duo had studied together until Class 12. The accused prevented her from reaching home and booked a hotel room in Firozabad to sexually assault her,” a senior police officer told TOI , adding that a complaint was filed at Shikohabad by the woman’s father on Thursday (Aug 27). In the early hours of Aug 27, the accused tried to again violate her and when she resisted, he killed her.
The woman went on to complete BSc and a nursing course before taking up a job with the quick e-commerce delivery app company in Gurgaon… During investigation, police found the victim’s mobile phone along with tablets of the sexual stimulant drug from the accused’s possession. The accused confessed that he consumed the drug and raped her.
A postmortem report stated “severe head injuries and internal bleeding” as the cause of death. SP (Firozabad rural) Anuj Chaudhary said on Saturday: “Evidence collected during the investigation and postmortem findings support the rape charges, and an FIR has been registered under BNS sections 103 (1) ( murder ), 64 (1) (rape) along with sections of SC/ST Act.”
