The district magistrate said the objective of this system is to prevent unnecessary delays in sensitive cases, while ensuring a fair, transparent and high-quality resolution of disputes. On every working day, after 10am, a team will depart directly from his office to the respective sites to address complaints—identified the previous day—that are sensitive or of an urgent nature, the DM said. In matters concerning law and order, immediate action will be taken in coordination with the police against any attempts at illegal encroachment or unauthorised construction, in accordance with the law, the district magistrate said.

This six-member joint team, comprising personnel from the revenue and the police departments, will reach the site and ensure that the complaints are addressed in accordance with the rules. In the presence of both parties, revenue records will be examined, the land will be measured and the actual situation on the ground will be verified. Priority will be given, in particular, to cases where a delay in taking action could lead to an escalation of the dispute or threaten public peace and order. Download the TOI App.
