Kanpur: Four goat traders were allegedly robbed of Rs 4.31 lakh at gunpoint after a group of assailants waylaid their car and attacked them with sticks on the Kanpur-Aligarh highway in Shivrajpur on Thursday morning.

The group was suddenly approached from behind by an XUV vehicle while navigating between the Dubiyana and Ganga Road underpasses on the Shivrajpur bypass. The assailants overtook their vehicle, parked the XUV in front of it and blocked its path, according to the traders. Station house officer Amit Singh said police were investigating the case.
