Lucknow: A 24-year-old woman, who was seven months pregnant, was allegedly beaten to death with a wooden stick by her husband following a domestic dispute in Hardoi district.
The woman’s mother-in-law was also injured when she intervened to save her. When Vishal’s mother, Prema , intervened and tried to stop the assault, she was also allegedly beaten and sustained injuries. Neighbours rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion and took the injured Kiran to a Community Health Centre where doctors declared her dead. Vishal has been taken into custody.
Police and family members said Vishal and Kiran had a quarrel around 4pm on Tuesday and it escalated, following which Vishal allegedly picked up a stick and began assaulting Kiran.
The victim, Kiran , got married to Vishal (26) three years ago. Bilgram Kotwali Inspector Vijay Kumar said further action would be taken on the basis of the complaint submitted by the family. The couple has a one-year-old daughter. Download the TOI App.
