Launch of Advanced Cancer Diagnostic Services
A new clinical centre has commenced operations, providing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based tests aimed at identifying genetic alterations in tumours. These tests will aid in treatment decision-making. The service offerings include tissue-based genomic profiling for solid tumours and liquid biopsy testing for advanced cancers, according to officials.
The centre is a collaboration between KSSSCI, IIT Kanpur, and Karkinos Healthcare. It is designed to serve as a regional hub, linking district hospitals with cancer care facilities. In addition to diagnostic services, the centre will facilitate teleconsultations, digital pathology, and virtual tumour board discussions. It will also engage in research and training initiatives.
