JNU meet
Lucknow: More than 100 alumni of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) from across Uttar Pradesh , along with those from outside the state, came together at Bhagidari Bhavan in Lucknow on Sunday for the JNU Alumni Meet 2026, turning the gathering into a lively mix of memories, music and professional camaraderie. Organised by the Uttar Pradesh chapter of the JNU Alumni Association, the 2026 gathering marked the chapter’s sixth alumni meet. The chapter held its first meet in 2012, followed by gatherings in 2013, 2018, 2023 and 2024.

The event brought together alumni from diverse walks of life, including journalists, bureaucrats, academicians, writers, poets and professionals from various fields. The evening also had a strong musical flavour, with noted Bollywood lyricist Sagar enthralling alumni with several of his popular film compositions. His performance added a nostalgic touch to the reunion, with many in the audience joining in and recalling songs associated with their student years. The SSB Band added to the festive atmosphere with a lively musical performance, drawing enthusiastic applause from the gathering. The members observed a two-minute silence in memory of six JNU alumni who had died prematurely. Download the TOI App.
