Prayagraj/Lucknow: Over 13 lakh candidates qualified the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test-2026, the results of which were declared by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) on Wednesday.
The examination was conducted from July 2 to July 4 in five shifts across 955 centres spread over 60 districts across the state, according to UPESSC chairman Prashant Kumar . A total of 19.9 lakh candidates had registered for the examination. For primary level (classes I to V), 7.1 lakh candidates appeared in the examination, of whom 5.7 lakh candidates qualified, recording a pass percentage of 80%. At upper primary level (classes VI to VIII), 10.5 lakh candidates took the test, and 7.59 lakh were declared successful, a pass percentage of 71.8%. Among serving teachers, 93,387 out of 1.2 lakh (76.29%) candidates qualified at the primary level, while 1,13,384 out of 1,46,394 teachers (77.45%) cleared the upper primary examination.

“The commission prepared the results using the normalisation process outlined in the official notification, ensuring uniform evaluation across multiple shifts,” Kumar said. Candidates can see the results on the commission’s official website (https://upessc.up.gov.in/). Download the TOI App.
