Pithoragarh district has experienced significant disruption as heavy rainfall and a flash flood have severed access to three valleys—Darma, Chaudas, and Byas. The flooding resulted in the destruction of a Bailey bridge located at Kulagad along the Dharchula-Lipulekh road, effectively cutting off these areas from the district headquarters in Dharchula.
