Kumar said the 17,000-page chargesheet prepared by Special Investigation Team (SIT) had categorically found that the wrongdoing was committed by some individuals engaged in counting the temple offerings. Kumar further noted that in its Aug 17 order, Supreme Court had said that anyone wishing to make suggestions regarding the ongoing investigation could approach the office of Solicitor General, who would then forward them to the SIT. The VHP chief said it was high time that the politics and smear campaign launched by parties targeting BJP came to an end.

Kumar said Supreme Court had accepted the demand for monitoring the investigation and had provided suggestions regarding SIT.
