Rajnath credits Yogi for Lucknow’s devpt push

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Lucknow: Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday credited chief minister Yogi Adityanath with playing a key role in Lucknow’s development, saying the pace of growth increases manifold when the Centre and state work with a common vision.

Addressing a gathering with the CM during the foundation stone laying and ‘bhoomi pujan’ of 12 development projects worth nearly Rs 101 crore for Lucknow Cantonment, Singh said Yogi had extended full support to development works in the state capital. He also announced that building norms in Cantonment areas, including Lucknow, had been relaxed to permit construction of up to five storeys, against the earlier provision of three.

“He did everything he promised,” Singh said, adding that the CM had also regularly reviewed projects. Singh said the state govt, defence ministry and industry were working together to accelerate development and that the state would continue to set new benchmarks in development and governance. Singh said changing needs of cities and residents required corresponding changes in regulations.
