Varanasi: The two-day national conference APACON-2026 concluded on Tuesday at Banaras Hindu University ’s Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Barkachha, Mirzapur.
BHU vice chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi said the faculty has made steady progress despite challenges related to infrastructure and faculty development. He said such conferences offer scientists and young researchers a national platform for academic recognition and meaningful dialogue. Prof BMN Kumar, professor in-charge, Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, said veterinary physiology has a crucial role in sustainable livestock production. He said the conference would help bring national recognition to the faculty and its research, while providing new direction to scientific research, breed improvement and sustainable dairy development.
Prof Chaturvedi also stressed the importance of collaboration among scientific institutions, technology transfer, joint research projects, co-supervision, industry partnerships, innovation, patents and institutional partnerships based on complementary strengths. Ravi Kumar Gandham, director, National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad, called for comprehensive studies on physiological traits such as disease resistance and heat tolerance at genetic and phenotypic levels.
