Kannauj : Three teenagers were killed after a speeding bus hit their motorcycle near the Dudwa Bujurg cut on the eastern bypass in Gursahaiganj area of Kannauj district late Friday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Anurag (18), Ashish (15) and Aman (18). The trio had gone to see Janmashtami tableaux in Gursahaiganj town and were returning to Baisanpurwa when a speeding bus struck their motorcycle, according to police. Police said the bus ran over the victims after the collision and the driver fled the scene. Police said the bodies have been kept at the mortuary in Kannauj and panchnama proceedings are underway.
A police team from Gursahaiganj police station reached the spot and rushed the injured to the Community Health Centre in Gursahaiganj. Owing to their critical condition, they were referred to the District Hospital in Kannauj, where doctors declared all three brought dead. Further legal action is being taken. Download the TOI App.
