He was hooking us up and getting us in the right places in Slovenia, seeing the most out of the country,” James said during an interview on ESPN LA 710.

Bronny has identified a supporting role beside the team’s established creators: “I can be a secondary ball handler to Luka and AR and generate whatever offense, catch-and-shoots, pick-and-roll offense, and stuff like that,” James told Mason & Ireland. Bronny James has a clearer picture of where he can help the Los Angeles Lakers as he prepares for another season in a changing roster. His summer included time with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, along with a team trip to Slovenia that gave the young guard a chance to build stronger connections with his teammates. For Bronny, the trip was not only about basketball. It also offered a close look at Doncic’s home country and showed how the Lakers’ new leader helped the group make the most of its time there. Doncic hosted the Lakers during their Slovenia visit, helping the team experience Ljubljana, Lake Bled and other parts of the country. Bronny spoke warmly about the trip while also outlining what he hopes to bring to Los Angeles this season. With several guards competing for minutes, he sees value in becoming a dependable secondary ball handler who can also play without the ball, knock down shots and defend. “We were with [Dončić]. Bronny still has offensive areas to improve. He needs a tighter handle, quicker decisions and greater consistency as a catch-and-shoot player. Those improvements could allow him to move between roles instead of being tied to one position.
