In 2024, the former professional soccer player stepped into a new spotlight as part of the magazine’s 60th anniversary issue. Brittany finished her college career with 31 goals, placing her second in the programme’s history. Her SI Swimsuit appearance therefore arrived at an interesting point in her career.
“I never in my wildest dreams thought this would happen,” she shared. Brittany Mahomes ’ Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut was not simply another celebrity appearance. Her Belize photoshoot reflected a career that had already moved far beyond the soccer pitch, with fitness, business, motherhood and women’s sports all shaping her public identity. Brittany’s route to Sports Illustrated began long before cameras followed her to Belize. Growing up in Tyler, Texas, she built her reputation as a competitive soccer player and later played college soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler. Her numbers there tell part of the story. She then continued playing professionally in Iceland with UMF Afturelding. “I’m so thankful and honored and so excited to be here with this team. She became a co-owner of the Kansas City Current, a National Women’s Soccer League team. Her involvement connected her current business interests with the sport that shaped her early life. One major development associated with the Current was CPKC Stadium, which was built specifically for a women’s professional sports team. That created a visible example of the growing investment in women’s football and gave Brittany another platform within the sports business world. She was no longer simply known as a former soccer player or Patrick Mahomes’ wife. She had become a fitness entrepreneur, team owner and mother while maintaining a strong presence online.
