Six Flags is preparing to deliver some of its biggest thrills yet, with record-breaking roller coasters planned for 2027. Kelce joined Six Flags as a brand ambassador in March 2026, bringing his popularity and lifelong interest in amusement parks to the company’s marketing campaign. In October 2025, activist investment firm Jana Partners disclosed a roughly 9% stake in Six Flags and its partnership with Kelce to push for improvements in marketing and the guest experience. Six Flags Magic Mountain permanently retired its X2 roller coaster in September 2026 following multiple lawsuits alleging serious brain injuries among riders. The allegations remain part of ongoing legal disputes and do not establish that the company’s planned 2027 attractions share the same issues. At Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, Bakunawa is planned to reach 382 feet and speeds of 100 mph. Six Flags Magic Mountain in California is preparing Thrill Glider, a 3,380-foot coaster that will combine elements of flying, motorbike and suspended rides. It is designed to reach 50 mph and feature five inversions. Meanwhile, Six Flags Fiesta Texas plans to open Werewolf Gorge, a 4,120-foot family launch coaster with four launches and a top speed of 45 mph. The park said the ride had passed numerous safety tests but chose to close it after concerns about guest confidence. But the amusement park giant has more than new attractions to manage. Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, who serves as its brand ambassador and is linked to an activist investor group, has become part of the company’s wider business story. Recent lawsuits involving an existing Six Flags coaster have also raised questions about ride safety, adding another layer of scrutiny as the company prepares to welcome thrill-seekers to its upcoming attractions. He is expected to help promote its attractions through digital content, social media and other campaigns. His involvement extends beyond advertising. The move came as the operator faced pressure to improve its business following challenges after its merger with Cedar Fair. However, recent legal developments have put the company under a different kind of spotlight. Despite the scrutiny, Six Flags has several major attractions in development. The park describes it as the world’s tallest and fastest spinning launch coaster, featuring three launches and freely spinning, floorless trains. Six Flags Great America in Illinois will also introduce Sky Hawk, a suspended family coaster within its new Camp Timber Trail area. Silver Dollar City, Holiday World and international parks in Japan, China and the United Kingdom also have new coasters planned. Most opening dates remain subject to change, so riders should check official park announcements before planning trips. For Kelce and Six Flags, the challenge is clear: turn the excitement around these new attractions into stronger guest confidence while addressing concerns surrounding the company’s existing rides.
