Meta Unveils Muse Spark 1.3 with Competitive Benchmark Scores

Meta has launched Muse Spark 1.3, marking the fourth release of its Muse Spark model within five months. This new version is currently available in a limited preview for selected partners. According to Artificial Analysis, Muse Spark 1.3 (max) achieved a score of 62 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index. This places it just behind Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Opus 5 in their respective top configurations.

Wang’s comment regarding the release was made in response to a thread from Artificial Analysis, highlighting the rapid development and competitive performance of Meta’s latest AI model.

The publicly available variant, Muse Spark 1.3 (xhigh), scored 61 on the same index, putting it in a tie with GPT-5.6 Sol (max), Grok 4.6 (high), and Claude Opus 5 (high). That score represents a 4-point jump from Muse Spark 1.2’s score of 57 in August, and an 8-point gain over Muse Spark 1.1’s score of 53 in July. It landed just behind Claude Fable 5.1 (max, 66), Claude Opus 5 (max, 63), and Claude Fable 5 (max, 62).

Both new Muse Spark variants improved primarily in two areas: agentic task performance and scientific reasoning, according to Artificial Analysis.

Muse Spark 1.3 scored 62 points, placing it behind only Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5.1 (66) and Claude Opus 5 (63), according to Artificial Analysis. The model outperformed Google’s Gemini 1.5 Pro and Gemini 1.5 Flash, which scored 61 and 53 respectively.

In a post shared on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) Wang wrote, “I really hate to say it, but… gemini who? 🚀💨” alongside a performance chart showing Meta’s Muse Spark 1.3 surpassing several Gemini variants on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index.
