HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services ( TCS ), has secured 264 acres of land in Hyderabad to build an AI data center campus with a capacity of up to 1GW. The facility will be developed in phases and is aimed at serving frontier AI companies and hyperscalers that need high-density, liquid-cooled compute infrastructure. In a blog post, the IT giant announced the project, noting that HyperVault and its partners are expected to invest up to Rs 70,000 crore to build and manage the infrastructure. The Hyderabad campus is designed to support high-density GPU deployments for AI training, inference and other advanced computing workloads.
The project will be executed in phases, with the pace of development tied to customer demand and technology requirements. At full build-out, the campus is expected to be among the largest and most advanced AI infrastructure sites in India, according to the companies. The development will also incorporate green energy and water-neutral design principles, according to the announcement. Beyond the data center itself, the project is expected to have a wider impact on India’s AI infrastructure ecosystem, touching sectors such as power, cooling, networking, construction and engineering. The companies said the project will create several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the region.
What HyperVault is and how it fits into TCS
The company is backed by the wider Tata Group, with TPG as a strategic partner, and is being developed in phases toward a total capacity exceeding one gigawatt. Its facilities use direct-to-chip liquid cooling and are designed for high rack density, combined with what the company describes as a power model that blends green energy with reliability, alongside network connectivity for AI training and inference workloads. TCS, the parent company, reported consolidated revenues of more than $30 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.
