Facebook-parent company Meta announced on Monday (October ) that it plans to raise up to $95 billion in its largest-ever equity fundraising effort, seeking fresh capital to fuel its massive artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure expansion without diluting CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s voting control. The first is that the company has rolled out public offerings valued at roughly $35 billion in common and preferred stock, and second, it intends to establish a separate at-the-market share sale program worth up to $60 billion. The capital plan consists of two separate equity moves.

Meta said the larger, $60 billion program will be deployed after its newly created non-voting Class C shares commence public trading—expected in the first quarter of 2027. Specific timelines and transaction terms for that phase have not yet been finalized.

Top chipmakers Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and Broadcom are collectively looking to acquire up to $5 billion in Meta’s voting Class A shares. On the same day as Meta’s disclosure, Elon Musk’s SpaceX revealed that an affiliate of private equity giant Apollo Global Management will purchase AI processors and data center hardware before leasing the equipment back to the firm, in a transaction totaling approximately $40 billion in principal payments. Notably, Meta has committed to roughly $825 billion in future expenditures, an enormous capital pipeline driven by new data center builds, cloud computing access, and next-generation server clusters.

The fundraising plan, which is marking one of the largest financial hauls ever attempted by an AI company, has already attracted serious interest from its primary semiconductor hardware partners. it has renewed scrutiny over a circular flow of capital within the AI sector, where primary hardware vendors help bankroll the rapid infrastructure build-out of one of their largest enterprise customers While the move guarantees immediate institutional backing. Meta has been pouring billions into advanced accelerators and specialized server campuses to keep pace with rival AI developers OpenAI and Anthropic. But clearly, that aggressive operational tempo has taken a toll on the company’s financial profile. You use AI every day. Now get your AI Quotient. Take the AIQ test.

Earlier this year, Google parent Alphabet expanded the scope of its own equity offerings to $84.75 billion. Meta’s massive share offering reflects a broader industry-wide shift among technology heavyweights, which are turning to public debt markets and share sales to sustain their computing appetite rather than relying solely on balance-sheet cash reserves.
