Kanpur: A 14-year-old Class 8 student died after her neck reportedly became entangled in a makeshift swing while she was playing with her three-year-old brother at their home in Rajeev Vihar, Kanpur, on Saturday evening.

Naubasta inspector Bahadur Singh said the family told police that Arushi died after the saree used as a swing tightened around her neck while she was playing. Arushi Tripathi, a student of UP Kirana School, was found unconscious by her mother, Niharika.. Family members rushed her to hospital, but she could not be saved.
