The disruption began around 7:56 PM IST and resulted in widespread system latency, unresponsive prompts, and operational failures. Many users, particularly those subscribed to the paid ChatGPT Plus service, reported that the platform’s dedicated Work mode was entirely inaccessible. This incident marks the second major service failure for ChatGPT within a three-day period, impacting thousands of corporate and individual users.

More than 2,000 users had reported problems with the platform as of 9:01 a.m. On August 31, OpenAI acknowledged the incident via its official status dashboard, confirming that ChatGPT Plus members faced disruptions due to Work mode becoming inaccessible.
