On Monday morning, the body of a newborn boy was discovered in a washroom located in the triage area of the emergency department at Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) in Lucknow. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation by hospital officials and local authorities.
A sanitation worker spotted the body at around 8.45am and alerted officials, according to officials. RMLIMS spokesperson Dr Bhuvan Chand Tiwari said the time and cause of death would be determined after postmortem. The newborn was found with the placenta still attached. The hospital administration informed the police, who reached the spot and took the body into custody.
