The road map will incorporate five focus areas
The statement said that five focus groups examined issues concerning faster implementation, quality, maintenance and safety of road projects, design, construction quality and sustainability of govt buildings, bridge safety, regular inspections and modern monitoring systems, capacity-building and skill development and technology adoption, process improvements and transparency. The department said in a statement on Sunday that suggestions and recommendations emerging from the deliberations would be converted into an implementation roadmap, with specific responsibilities, deadlines and continuous monitoring to ensure that the exercise results in tangible improvements in infrastructure delivery and governance.
A yoga session was organised at Central Vista Garden on Oct 9. The exercise covered the department’s civil, electrical and mechanical wings, with an emphasis on linking field-level experience to improvements in policy and work processes. The programme also featured sessions on motivation, ergonomics for engineers and effective social media management by govt departments.
