More than 7,000 protesters were detained at multiple locations, preventing them from reaching Jantar Mantar, police sources said. More than 30,000 police and paramilitary personnel were to be deployed, according to the report.

NEW DELHI: An executive magistrate court on Sunday released Cockroach Janta Party ( CJP ) leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka from detention, a day after Delhi Police detained them following their arrival in the national capital ahead of a planned protest at Jantar Mantar. The three leaders were detained by Delhi Police immediately after their flight landed in the national capital on Saturday and were subsequently placed under preventive arrest ahead of the planned protest at Jantar Mantar, police said. The CJP renewed its call for a protest at Jantar Mantar on Sunday as police continued security arrangements across the city.
