Traders from Tamil Nadu , Kerala and other states had arrived to participate. The auction could not begin after the centre’s computer network and internet connectivity failed. Staff who inspected the system found that rats had damaged the cables, making electronic bidding impossible. The scheduled auctions were subsequently cancelled, leaving farmers and traders unable to sell or buy the registered lots. The disruption has been brought to the notice of the Spices Board.
