Kanpur: The civil structures of Metro stations along the 4.50 km long elevated section of Kanpur Metro’s Corridor-2 (CSA–), which is being constructed in two stretches, are rapidly taking shape. Earlier, in June 2026, platform level casting had been completed at Vijay Nagar Chauraha and Barra-7 stations. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC) managing director, Sushil Kumar , said, “The civil construction work on the elevated section of Kanpur Metro’s Corridor-2 is progressing rapidly.

In this sequence, Kanpur Metro has completed the platform level casting work at two stations of the section– and Shastri Chowk. With this, platform level casting has now been completed at four out of five stations of the elevated section. With the completion of the platform level work, construction of technical rooms at the concourse level of these four elevated Metro stations has also commenced. Upon completion of these technical rooms, installation of various technical systems and equipment required for Metro operations will also commence. Casting of major precast structures has been completed. Track construction work is also progressing simultaneously with the civil construction activities”.
