Lucknow: A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death by his acquaintance following an argument near Ambedkar Park in the Saadatganj area on Saturday evening. A video purportedly showing the accused fleeing the scene later went viral on social media.

Rehan had gone for a walk with his acquaintance, Uzaifa, a resident of Gulab Ki Bagiya, according to police. The two were near Ambedkar Park in C Block of Azad Nagar when an argument broke out. During the altercation, Uzaifa allegedly pulled out a knife and repeatedly attacked Rehan before fleeing. Senior police officers, including DCP (West) Jitendra Srivastava and ACP Ranjit Kumar, visited the crime scene and reviewed the evidence.

His wife, Seeba, said he had left home around 6 pm on Saturday and that the family was later informed about the attack. He said Rehan was released from jail three days ago. The victim, identified as Rehan, a resident of Ramnagar, suffered multiple stab wounds, including a deep injury to his neck. He was rushed to the trauma centre of King George’s Medical University (KGMU), where doctors declared him dead during treatment. His father, Munshi, alleged that Rehan had been falsely implicated in a case and had spent one and a half months in Agra jail.
