The month-long campaign will begin on Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s birthday on Sept 17 and continue till Oct 17. Announcing activities planned under the campaign, Yogi said party workers and public representatives would distribute fruits in hospitals on Sept 17.
Addressing a state-level workshop on the upcoming ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, Yogi said young people were increasingly forming opinions through social media and mainstream media, making it essential for party workers to engage with them using facts and real-life examples. “Party workers should explain the condition of the country before 2014 and Uttar Pradesh before 2017 and highlight the transformation that has taken place since then,” chief minister said. No youth has had any cause for complaint,” he said, urging party workers to connect with those who had secured govt jobs and share their success stories with the public. Chief minister said Seva Sankalp Abhiyan should become more than a series of events and instead serve as a vehicle for showcasing the impact of public welfare schemes. He said stories of families becoming self-reliant through govt programmes, youths securing employment, and citizens benefiting from improvements in education and healthcare existed at every Shakti Kendra and polling booth. “The mafia in Uttar Pradesh has been reduced to dust, but they continue to shed tears for them,” he said, adding that opposition leaders had failed to show similar concern for victims of encephalitis or crimes against women. He said the redevelopment of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, rapid development in Ayodhya and the construction of Ram Temple reflected Uttar Pradesh’s changing identity. State BJP president Pankaj Choudhary said the objective of Seva Sankalp Abhiyan was not merely to recount the achievements of Modi govt but to present stories of change in the lives of ordinary citizens.
“The recruitment process is moving forward without favouritism or financial dealings. Camps for distribution of prosthetic limbs and assistive devices for Divyangjan would also be organised across all districts. Taking a swipe at Samajwadi Party, chief minister accused its leaders of sympathising with mafia elements. Chief minister also cited major infrastructure projects, including Ganga, Purvanchal and Bundelkhand expressways, as symbols of the state’s transformation. He asked party workers to take the success stories of beneficiaries of housing schemes, Ujjwala connections, farmer welfare programmes, startups and digital initiatives directly to the people.
