Ahmedabad: More than 500 seats in govt and grant-in-aid pharmacy colleges in Gujarat have fallen vacant following cancellation of admissions by students who secured seats in medical and dental courses through NEET . To fill the vacant seats, the admission committee will conduct a special online admission round from Sept 17.
Following the three rounds, over 500 seats remained vacant, particularly in govt and grant-in-aid pharmacy colleges in North and Central Gujarat. More than 128 students who had secured seats in govt and grant-in-aid colleges also cancelled their admissions. As per the schedule, online registration and the admission process for vacant govt and grant-in-aid seats will begin on Sept 17. Students will have to give consent and complete choice filling by Sept 22. Seat allotment will be declared on Sept 25, while candidates will have to confirm their admissions by Sept 29.
As a result, 195 of the 615 degree pharmacy seats and 313 seats in diploma pharmacy courses have become vacant. The admission committee has now announced a special round to fill these seats. The committee has already completed three common online rounds for admission to degree and diploma pharmacy courses after Class XII science. The admission cancellation window remained open until Wednesday evening.
