Kanpur: Kalyanpur police arrested Mazhar Ali (33), one of the accused in an abetment to suicide case, carrying Rs 10,000 reward and absconding since 2021, from his Sant Kabir Nagar residence on Thursday evening.
The body of Yatindra Kumar Tiwari, alias Nitin (29) was found in a house at Satyam Vihar, Keshavpuram in Kanpur on June 14, 2021. Following a complaint lodged by his father Durga Prasad Tiwari, Kalyanpur police registered a case under Section 306 IPC. Police said Ali, son of Asgar Ali and resident of Bitwa Mohalla, Motinagar (Roshan Nagar), Khalilabad, is being taken to Kanpur Nagar for production before court. Police said a suicide note was recovered in which the deceased had mentioned names of Maya Devi, her husband Rajkishor, Ali and their associates, holding them responsible for his suicide.
